Lots Available from Habitat for Humanity – Farm This Now!

The New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity has asked NOFFN to reach out to folks interested in farming on a number of empty lots available for lease in the St. Roch, and the Upper and Lower 9th Wards, or some lots for sale in the St. Bernard area.

The map below locates the available lots.

Habitat for Humanity will lease lots for up to 5 year terms (There may be some exceptions in the Lower 9th Ward). The Lessee will be required to sign a low risk contract ($1 per year). The main expense for the Lessee would be installing a

water spigot on the lot, if they choose to do so ($788).

If interested, please fill out their Lot Use Proposal and send to them so they have an idea of what you plan to do with the lots, as well as the Land Use Agreement, which needs to be signed by the Lessee.
